This hand-painted 'Owl' on ceramic is a signed original by the potter David Sharp, framed.
David Sharp started his apprentice at Rye Pottery in 1947, alongside Raymond Everett and Dennis Townsend. In 1956, David Sharp and George Gray started Cinque Ports Pottery. After the partnership ended, in 1964, he launched his own studio, David Sharp Pottery, where his creativity flourished.
By the late 1960s, the pottery gained recognition for it’s animal figures and wall plaques. Throughout the 70’s there were commissions, including a ceramic sheep for Bayer in 1974, and later, The "Buccaneers of Britain" series. In the 1990s, he moved towards individual studio pieces.
