June Bevan (1927 -2024)was born in Birmingham and educated at King's Norton Girls Grammar School, showing an aptitude for painting and draughtsmanship from an early age. She began painting seriously in 1962 and exhibiting her work.

In 1982, June held her first one woman exhibition at the Manchester Business School, She regularly attended courses, and gained her full degree in Fine Art from John Moores University in 2000. Bevan's work has a focus on light, which she believes is of primary importance, depicting it's subtle nuances being a key endeavour for her.

A member of the Stockport Art Guild, June Bevan was also a founder member of the Bramhall Art Society. She has exhibited at the Salon de Bezier, Manchester Academy of Fine Arts, The Society of Women Artists and the Bath Open Exhibition.
