Seth Cardew (1934–2016), Michael Cardew’s son, trained in painting at Chelsea School of Art and sculpture at Camberwell School of Art. During the 1960’s he worked as a model maker at Pinewood, Elstree, and Shepperton Studios. Following his father's death in 1983, he took over the running of Wenford Bridge Pottery in Cornwall, where he developed a his style that combined traditional craftsmanship with contemporary design.
Cardew’s work is celebrated for its quality, artistic design, and contribution to modern studio pottery. His pottery is in various museums and galleries, including the Birmingham City Art Gallery, Royal Cornwall Museum (Truro), and the Victoria and Albert Museum.
